In keeping with the recent issuance of the New York State Department of Health’s stipulations of requiring either vaccinations or masks through Jan. 31st, 2022, we are opting for the mask option.  As a local church body, we are encouraging our attendees to wear masks as they deem fit according to their personal health.  We ask also that attendees continue to wash their hands, use church-provided hand sanitizer, and stay home if they are sick.  Covid is a real and serious virus, and we are doing our best to honor God first and foremost, follow our government’s edicts, and protect our congregants.  All are welcome to attend our church services and no one will be turned away.

Please read the SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT under our SERVICES section. The message was drafted specifically to address the new edict from our governors office.

We have had “in person” services for over one year and a half and are thankful to say that we have not had this virus spread from our church! Praise be to God!!!  However, with the resurgence of Covid and it’s new variants, we truly appreciate our congregation doing their part to help control the spread.

You may sit where you would like but, if unsure how others feel, please be respectful by asking before sitting next to or behind them.  All are welcome to the sanctuary, vaccinated or not. Please, if you are not feeling well, stay home, rest and tune in to our service on the church’s Facebook page. You do not have to have a Facebook account to access:   Scroll down to find the LIVE video.  The service is also uploaded to YouTube at a later time and can be accessed from this section of our webpage.

There will still be a few chairs set up in the “overflow” area for those who wish to keep their distance, however the sofa and chair area will now be for families of young children who may need a few minutes of respite while still being a part of the service.

@AMSTERDAM RiSE Youth Group:  Those points are adding up to a party very soon!   Wednesday  at 6:45.  PLEASE invite kids from your neighborhood for some games, refreshments and a devotional time from the book: “Don’t Check Your Brains at the Door”  – by Josh McDowell and Bob Hostetler. Please bring masks in case we need them.  Making plans for ReGen at camp this spring.  If you are able to give children a ride to Sunday School and Church or Youth Group, please let Pastor Sean or Pastor Bill know. Thank you to the Smiths, Carrs and Lynette for their help!

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING will be after our service on January 23rd, 2022.

EMMA IS OFF TO TEXAS!   We celebrated Emma off to TX to her basic training with the Air Force (Air Guard.) We pray she works hard, does well and returns safely to us after her technical training.   Please keep her parents in prayer as they will be missing her, greatly. If you would like Emma’s address and list of do’s and don’ts about sending mail to her on base, please let Linda know by email, text or phone.

Go with God, Emma!

WHAT’S UP AT SAC?  Sportsman’s Day was somewhat lightly attended but had 6 people make decisions to trust in the Lord as their Savior! Speakers were great and the food was delicious.  All had a great time!   Now, Winterblast for youth coming right up!  Please check out their website and if you know of any young people (not just our youth group) who would like to go, please see Peggy.

DIRECTORY:  The Church Directory is now available.  An email with the directory attached will be sent out to all whose email address appears in it.  If you do not have your email listed, but would like a copy or if you would simply prefer a paper copy, there will be one available for you at the church. Remember, our directory is not just for church members but includes all who attend FBC, and is private, not to be distributed to the public.

“SING! Global” Conference:  Segments of the Getty’s “SING! Global” conference will be made available to anyone who would like to see it.  Our church registered with the conference and most segments are available.  Please see Peggy P if you are interested in viewing any portion of this conference.

COFFEE (AND TEA) FELLOWSHIP: There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board if you care to provide pre-packaged snacks or some easy to serve items like cupcakes, cookies or little sandwiches after church each Sunday.

It was Hard to Say Good Bye    …  David Boone is now living in Tennessee near family and would love to hear from you!  His address is posted on the bulletin board in the lobby.  Some pictures are on our photo page. (check the menu)  Some music can be heard, here:

“Oh, Lord! You’re Beautiful” and “Shout to the Lord”
