It’s That Time of Year!   Please bring some non-perishable food items to church and place them in or near the basket at the front of the church. These will be used to help local people throughout this coming winter.

Operation Christmas Child   Boxes are available in the foyer if you would like to support Operation Christmas Child.  Directions are available as to what you are allowed to pack and NO CHECK needs to be inserted into the box, as our church will take care of that.  The Sunday School children helped Lynette fill some boxes on the 24th and they can be seen in the video just before the beginning of our worship service, adding their boxes to the rest on the steps in the sanctuary.  November 21 is the last day to bring the OCC boxes.

BON FIRE!  Join our youth group at a bonfire at Pastor and Peggy’s house on Saturday, November 6th at 5:30 PM. Cider and donuts, coffee and of course, S’mores. Glow sticks will be provided for hide’n seek in the tree farm. First to find a white envelope in the evergreens, wins!  (must be between 10 and 21 to play)  Other games for younger children, too, and they also get glow sticks 🙂

@AMSTERDAM RiSE Youth Group:    Wednesday  at 6:45.  PLEASE invite kids from your neighborhood for some games and a devotional time from the book: “Don’t Check Your Brains at the Door”  – by Josh McDowell and Bob Hostetler. Please bring masks. Refreshments will be served.

If you are able to give children a ride to Sunday School and Church or Youth Group, please let Pastor Sean or Pastor Bill know. Thank you to the Smiths, Carrs and Lynette for their help!

“SING! Global” Conference:  Segments of the Getty’s “SING! Covid Update

We have had “in person” services for over one year and are thankful to say that we have not had this virus spread from our church! Praise be to God!!!  However, with the resurgence of Covid, we truly appreciate our congregation doing their part by wearing masks when appropriate, and using hand sanitizer. Both are still available to those who choose them. We have removed the red and green markers on the pews and you are now allowed to sit where you would choose but, if unsure, please be respectful of others by asking before sitting next to or behind them.  All are welcome to the sanctuary, vaccinated or not. Please, if you are not feeling well, stay home, rest and tune in to our service on the church’s Facebook page. You do not have to have a Facebook account to access: https://www.facebook.com/FirstBaptistAmsterdam   Scroll down to find the LIVE video.  The service is also uploaded to YouTube at a later time.

There will still be a few chairs set up in the “overflow” area for those who wish to keep their distance, however the sofa and chair area will now be for families of young children who may need a few minutes of respite while still being a part of the service.

It was Hard to Say Good Bye    …  David Boone is now living in Tennessee near family and would love to hear from you!  His address is posted on the bulletin board in the lobby.  Some pictures are on our photo page. (check the menu)  Some music can be heard, here:

“Oh, Lord! You’re Beautiful” and “Shout to the Lord”
