The First Baptist Church of Amsterdam, New York at 479 Guy Park Avenue will

hold its annual “Scoops of Blessings” ice cream social community fundraiser on Friday, July 17 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. The church is located on a hill at the west end of Guy Park Avenue near the City of Amsterdam/Village of Fort Johnson line and kitty-corner across from the Amtrak train station.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Fulton Montgomery Long Term Recovery Committee assisting victims of local disasters.

Patrons may help themselves to vanilla, chocolate and/or strawberry ice cream donated by Stewart’s Shops plus a variety of toppings and baked goods, popcorn and bottled water all for a nominal charge.  There will also be a bounce house (weather permitting),live music provided by Jessie Jensen of Northville from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and an appearance by Terry Smith’s puppets from the Town of Florida.  Individuals may also purchase tickets to participate in a silent auction of items from area merchants. The event will be held rain or shine and young and old are welcome to attend.
